Logos is an attempt to find a cryptographically secure way of helping solve some of the biggest challenges of data security which have come about since the advent of the information age. Where do we draw a line between freedom of individuals and businesses to privacy and independence vs the State's need to enforce laws and exert control? How can we ensure the neutrality of any third party who must decide on where to draw the line? In the age of opensource technology, ACL's answer is to trust in the opensource community.
Data security
At ACL we believe that data integrity and security are important considerations for everyone, from individuals, to businesses and at the national level. Advances in technology over the last 20 years have led to data becoming an increadibly valuable commodity while simultaneously we all produce more data than ever before and bad-actors are more technologically advanced than ever. Cybercrime and financial scams are a major source of revenue for criminal organisations.
Data Freedom
Alongside big questions related to data security, another equally valid question of data freedom naturally arises. Governments and law enforcement need the ability to acquire data but at the same time, each person or entity has the freedom to resist unwarrented invasion into their lives. This slightly contradictory state of affairs comes into stark focus when we think about Digital IDs, CBDCs and online age verification laws.
